StarQuest SQDR
Data Replication Tool
Move data between SQL Server, Oracle & DB2... StarQuest Data Replicator (SQDR) efficiently replicates data between IBM DB2, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, providing necessary data integration for Internet and intranet publishing and electronic commerce, data warehousing and data mining.
SQDR directly enables these solutions through robust and efficient bi-directional snapshot replication of data.
Meeting Mission Critical Database Replication Needs
When you're integrating a client/server application, a data warehouse, or the latest system for the Web, ease of use and comprehensive administration are key requirements. SQDR meets these requirements by providing advanced tools for easy system setup and centralized graphical administration of all replication functions, including filtering, scheduling, and statistics gathering.
Bi-directional Replication In a heterogeneous environment, applications generally require sending data from the host to distributed systems and consolidation of data from distributed systems to the host. To satisfy these diverse needs, SQDR allows you to move data between IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
Flexible Replication Options SQDR supports replication of selected columns ("vertical partitioning"), selected rows ("horizontal partitioning"), and replication of selected columns from selected rows (combined vertical and horizontal partitioning). The replicated data can either replace existing tables or be merged on a row-by-row basis. SQDR also supports derived destination columns and data transformations, including automatic conversion of date and timestamps.
Flexible Scheduling SQDR allows you to control the timing of the replication. Whether it's a repeatable one-time on-demand replication, a one-time scheduled replication, or recurring replication at predefined times, SQDR lets you replicate your data when needed.
Security with Use of Management Mission-critical data requires mission-critical security. That's why SQDR is fully integrated with both SQL Server/Windows NT security and the native security of your DB2 system.
Complete Statistics
SQDR provides full statistics so you can monitor and view replication activity using the SQDR Manager or Windows NT Performance Monitor. For each replication operation, you can track:
Throughput
Number of bytes transferred Elapsed time SQDR v3.4 StarQuest Data Replicator v3.4 provides support for Windows Vista and Windows 2008.
System Requirements
You can install and run the StarQuest Data Replicator on any of the following:
* Windows 2008 * Windows Server 2003 * Windows Vista * Windows XP Professional * Windows XP Home Edition * Windows 2000 Professional * Windows 2000 Server
The Data Replicator requires a control database in which to store definitions for sources, destinations, and subscriptions. You can use any of the following editions of SQL Server for the SQDR control database. If you do not already have a SQL Server installation, you can obtain the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) or SQL Server 2005 Express Edition free of charge from Microsoft to use as a control database for the Data Replicator.
SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) Release A, or MSDE 2000 SP3a SQL Server 2000 with SP3a SQL Server 2005 SQL Server 2005 Express can be used as control database, with limitations (scheduling not available due to the lack of SQL Server Agent in this release)). You can replicate data to and from any of the following database systems:
DB2 for OS/390 v5.1 and later DB2/400 (DB2 UDB for iSeries) OS/400 v3r2 and later DB2 Universal Database (UDB) v6.x and later for UNIX and Windows SQL/DS (DB2 for VM & VSE) v3.3 and later SQL Server 2005 SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) Release A, or MSDE 2000 SP3a SQL Server 2000 with SP3a SQL Server v7.0 with at least SP1 (v7.00.699), although SP4 or the current service pack is recommended Oracle 8i or later Access to DB2 databases requires an ODBC driver, such as the StarSQL driver available from StarQuest Ventures, IBM DB2 Connect, or IBM iSeries Access for Windows (for access to data sources on the OS/400).
Access to Oracle databases requires the Oracle Client software, including the ODBC driver from either Oracle or Microsoft.
In addition, you can use Data Replicator with other databases if they can be accessed through an ODBC driver that complies with Level 2 of the ODBC 3.51 specification.
If you use an ODBC driver other than StarSQL there may be additional configuration requirements to use the driver for replications with SQDR. The SQDR Readme.txt file and the Customer Support area of the StarQuest Web site provide details about known issues for using SQDR with other products. |

This letter serves to confirm that Musique Westgate purchased a copy of Unisoft POS/CD Manager in 1996. We are currently still using POS Manager for the day to day running of our business. Details of the functionality are as follows:
- Specialised stock control for music retail - Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable - Invoicing, Cash Sales, Refunds - Goods Received, Orders - Extensive reporting on all transactions
The purchase of POS Manager has enabled us to minimise stock exposure, by employing a 'just in time' stock holding approach. The program has enabled us to provide superior service to our clients by enabling us to track customer loyalty, and offer a customer rewards program. In short Unisoft POS Manager has made our business substantially more efficient.
Any bugs or enhancements have always been attended to quickly and with a good standard of workmanship. The fact that we are still using the program indicates that it is a good product, and that we have a good relationship with the Vendor.
